Edges rules are here to keep the peace and maintain order. We ask that people read through the rules and familiarise yourself with them before joining. Breaking these rules will earn you a strike, two strikes and you're out of the server!

Server RULES

Read the pins in each channel before you are allowed to post.
No political talk* Let's keep it friendly, guys!
Keep it PG16. Please keep the attitude in the group PG-16. We have an NSFW server for that.
Do Not Spoil: Goes without saying!
We do not accept sues or god mods: We do not accept them!
Respect other members & Mods. We do not accept bullying, provoking, harassment, slander and passive aggression. Please avoid creating a negative environment.
Avoid drama and leave it at the door, no fights or stirring up trouble, please!
Don't violate the Content Trigger List. Even if you utilize spoiler tags, triggering material is not acceptable. We can't predict what's going to be underneath the spoiler, so that doesn't help prevent people from triggering themselves.
Keep all RP 3rd person in and in the RP channels! You're not your character.
Don’t steal art or people's characters.
Common sense (Rule Dodging & group fit): We please ask that folks try to read the room and be sympathetic to others, do not try and get around the rules or create a negative vibe.

SERVER CONFLICT

A guide to server conflict. What to do?

First, assume that this is just an accident for them. Have grace and mercy. We all mess up! If a mod is online, they will jump into the situation; if a mod is not online, feel completely free to DM us.
If you want to enter the situation yourself, kindly point out the issue to them, perhaps suggesting a way to reword.
If this person has had repeated issues, feel free to DM the mods just in case we haven't been online at the right time to see it ourselves. Moderating should not be your load to bear -- that's what we're here for.

"OH, NO! I said something ignorant or unkind, and someone pointed it out!! How do I respond?"

DO NOT Argue back. "I don't really care about that issue. I don't see why it's a big deal. Gee, why are you so sensitive?"

DO NOT Use allyship as a shield. "Well, I just see everyone as equal! Or, I'm part of XYZ demographic and what I said doesn't bother me."

DO NOT Beat yourself up -- it makes the issue all about your guilt, making you the victim. "Oh my God. I am the worst. I should just quit the group. I'm a horrible person."

DO NOT Claim that you are unable to do better. "Well, I'm just really dumb. It's a bad habit. I'm not educated in this." (That's why they're being so kind as to help you!)

DO Be kind and chill! Say thanks and make the requested edit. "Whoops, my bad! Changed my wording. " Then? Move on! It is totally that easy. If someone brings up something you did, they think you're trustworthy and worthwhile enough to have a mature conversation with.

Congratulations! We all have learning experiences. Making a mistake does not ruin a server -- we all do it! -- but having a sour attitude if someone kindly points it out DOES.

!! TWO STRIKES IS OUT !!

In Edge of the Galaxy, if you violate the rules or receive complaints about your behaviour, you receive two chances. On the third violation, you will be removed. Of course, warnings and strikes are always up for discussion if you think they were given in error, and we will consider your perspective and come to a decision.

FAW / TLDR

Is there a dice mechanic?

Yes, there are! These are all OPTIONAL in the group when it comes to RP, if you want to fight and use them you can, or if you just want to chill and RP you can do that too. Though we do ask you read the Mechanics journal anyway because it will affect your sheet.

My characters race isn't from Starwars? Can I use them?

No, sorry! All races must be official canon for Starwars (Legacy!) races can be found on wookiedia. We also ask that you do not claim relations to the main cast or characters. No Skywalkers, please!

Can I advertise my group here?

Sorry, we'd prefer you didn't. It's not breaking the rules but if you want to talk about other groups and characters from said groups, we ask you to do that in their channels!

So it's all based on the ship, can we leave?

Yes, you can! Starwars is all about exploration, and though Home-1 will travel to different places passengers are free to come and go as they please on their own ships! You don't need to be tied down to the 'hub' of the group! Just know there will be conflict everywhere.

How bad is the galaxy out there anyway?

Currently the entire galaxy is at war with itself. It's not like Mad-Max levels of chaos, but nowhere is safe, rebellious terrorism, warlord invading parties, pirates are attacking everywhere.
